AB De Villiers’ 200th ODI goes unnoticed
AB De Villiers played his 200th game for South Africa on Sunday, but, his memorable outing was washed out by the rain and only six deliveries were bowled in the match. Officially, AB has played 205 games, but, the five matches of them are for South Africa XI.
The South African skipper has played 200 One Day Internationals for his team so far and has maintained an outstanding average of 54.71 at a strike rate of 99.96. He has scored 24 centuries and 48 half centuries in his career.
The man, who has got the reputation of Mr. 360 degree for his ability of playing shots all around the ground, holds the record for the fastest half century in ODI cricket on just 16 deliveries, he struck the fastest century in ODIs on just 31 deliveries and also went to score fastest 150 runs on just 64 deliveries.
He also holds the record for hitting most number of sixes in a single innings with 16 maximums in his innings of 149 runs on just 44 deliveries against the West Indies. He is also the one, who has the feat to his name of striking the most number of sixes in a year with 58 sixes in 20 ODIs in 2015 beating Afridi’s record of 48 sixes in 2002.
The South African superman also has the most number of ODI centuries for his country with 24 centuries, Hashim Amla has 23 centuries to his name. He is also highest scorer for South Africa in world cups.
