After retirement, Misbah takes his critics to task
LAHORE: Former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq has said that his critics like Sikandar Bakht should distribute sweets as he is not returning to one day cricket, ARYSports.tv reports.
The statements were made by Misbah-ul-Haq as he was talking to media persons on Tuesday.
It should be noted that Sikandar Bakht was criticizing Misbah-ul-Haq over his approach towards the game on regular basis during programs on a private television channel.
Misbah had announced that he will retire as one day captain after the Cricket World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
The former captain, speaking to media, also said that he was content with his career and wishes the best of luck to the team.
He said that not posting huge total was a problem throughout the tournament.
He added that the side gave batsman Sarfraz Ahmed a chance in the team and had no problem with him. He expressed his disappointment with the batting department and stated that the team can only improve if it gets its basics right.
Misbah also praised the bowling of the green shirts in the mega event.
Misbah lauded Shahid Afridi by calling him “the only genuine all-rounder who is replaceable”.
He thanked the team and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for their continuous support to him despite the criticisms he faced.
