Aisamul Haq out of Australian Open in the first round
Melbourne: Pakistan’s tennis star Aisamul Haq faces consecutive defeat from the very beginning of this year when he makes an early exit in the Australian Open Men doubles event.
Aisamul Haq and his British partner Jonathan Marray had to face Brazil’s Bruno Soares and Britain’s Jamie Murray.
Jamie Murray, the elder brother of Britain’s Top seed Andray Marray and Soares ranking at 22 dominated their opponents throughout the match which lasted for an hour and seventeen minutes and won it by 6-3, 6-4 qualifying for the next round.
Aisam and Marray kept repeating unforced errors, they did create a bit of resistance in the second set but were unable to pressurize their opponents.
Since 2010 this has been Aisam’s most disappointing performance in Australian Open. During the period 2011 to 2015 Aisam has always been making it to the 3rd round in Australian Open events.
Earlier, during the first week of this month Aisam and Jonathan Marray lost against Kubot and Matkowski in the Brisbane Open and Butorac and Lipsky in Auckland.
The 35 year old Pakistani player would now play along with his partner Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan in the mixed doubles category.
