Akhtar laughs off Harbhajan’s claim of beating
Former Pakistani pacer, Shoaib Akhtar has denied the claims made by Harbhajan Singh that he bashed him and Yuvraj Singh inside a room.
Akhtar admitted that such an incident did take place, but, it was all in a lighter note and good humor.
Akhtar told Press Trust of India, “Yes, it did happen during 2004 when we were playing a Test in Rawalpindi, but it was nothing serious and all fun.”
“Basically, we were horsing around and doing some arm wrestling and that is all, but no, Harbhajan and Yuvraj are my younger brothers, there is no question of beating them up,” Shoaib Akhtar clarified.
“I think he has made a big deal of it,” he added.
The fastest bowler of all time told that his rivalry with Indian cricketers was just on-field and they were great friends off the field, “The duo got along well with me and we used to have dinner together,” he said. “We have been good friends so how can I beat them.”
Earlier, Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh shared the incident in an Indian program, Aap ki adalat, where Shoaib threatened him to break into his room and beat him. Moreover, he claimed that Akhtar once hit him and Yuvraj in a room.
