Lahore: The world renowned Pakistani origin British boxer Amir Khan says “Pakistan is a peaceful country for sports, there’s plenty of boxing talent available it just needs to be groomed. I want to take Pakistan to its peak in boxing.”

“I was a fast bowler but my passion and profession is attached to boxing, defending any title is more difficult than winning it. My next fight will be in January or February next year.”

During his visit to Lahore, Amir Khan said, “I belong to Rawalpindi, from my childhood I’ve been spending my summer vacations in Pakistan, I never feel uncomfortable when my fans ask me for ‘selfies.’ I started boxing when I was 8, I indeed have a liking for cricket being a Pakistani, I used to be a fast bowler but my passion and profession remained attached to boxing, I am tough and hard in boxing but a responsible citizen in normal life. Pakistan has lot of boxing talent available it only needs to be groomed.”

The British boxer said “My success started off from the Olympics when I was 17, I used to undergo vigorous training of 4-5 hours daily when I started boxing. I boxed in Jinnah Stadium, Islamabad, it is always difficult to defend any title rather than winning it because at the back of your mind you carry the burden of not losing the fight at any cost.”

“Apart from England and Pakistan, Muslims around the world support me. Recently I have visited the area of ‘Thar’ where I found people have nothing to eat which made me very sad. I have setup ‘Amir Khan Trust and Foundation’ for helping such people. We supported victims whenever there was disaster due to natural calamity. As philanthropist Pakistani people have an example of their own, they trust me and our Foundation and give their donations and funds to us. I am blessed by Almighty and am satisfied with all what I have. We spend every single penny donated by the people for which it is given.”

Amir Khan said “I firmly believe that whatever you spend in the name of ‘ALLAH’ you will be rewarded much more than what you’ve spent.” He further said that his next fight will be in January or February next year and nowadays he’s trying to spend more time with his family as he’s a father of a beautiful daughter.
