The Pakistani origin star boxer, Amir Khan is holding a high-end charity event for Amir Khan Trust to raise finds to drill two wells in the drought hit region of Thar.
Amir Khan will have a three day long tour, where he will meet his fans and admirers at a local mall on May 31st, then he will hold a public workout at Frere Hall on June 1st and the biggest event will take place on June 2nd at a local hotel where eight top class international boxers will have exhibition matches for charity.
“It is a fund-raising event to drill two water wells in Thar,” the organisers told The Express Tribune. “The main event will be properly recorded as Khan wants to bring international boxing to Pakistan.”
The hospitatlity partners of Amir Khan Trust, Pearl Continetal Hotel revealed that it will cost Rs 1,50,000 for a table of ten people for the Main Fight Night.
But, unfortunately, the local boxers are unaware of the event taking place in Karachi who are training hard in Islamabad for the upcoming Olympics qualifying matches.
However, PAF boxer Arshad Khan has still appreciated the effort, “The reason we are not performing to our potential is because we don’t get to fight against international boxers. These pugilists have a far superior technique than ours. Khan’s event can certainly be great for the boxers but we don’t know much about it yet.”
