The plans of holding final of second edition of Pakistan Super League in Lahore have been shaken by the brutal bomb blast in the city that took 13 human lives. However, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa has shown full support for hosting PSL final in Lahore.
The second edition of PSL is currently underway in the UAE due to the security concerns in the country. Pakistan have not hosted any noteworthy international cricket event since Sri Lanka’s team was attacked in Lahore by terrorists in 2009.
However, General Bajwa, on a visit to Corps Headquarters in Lahore on Tuesday, said such incidents cannot lower their morale to fight against terrorism.
“Army will extend full support to all concerned for holding the event as scheduled,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) quoted the army chief as saying.
“Terrorists of all hue and colour, their masters, financiers, planners and abettors including from outside will be hunted across the country, held accountable and responded to. Our gains over the years cannot be reversed,” the army chief further added.
It was planned that the final of PSL 2017 will be held in Lahore, but, the recent terrorist attack has once again scared foreign players from touring Pakistan.
