Azhar Ali’s wicket carries great importance, says James Anderson
London: English bowler James Anderson topping the ICC Test ranking list says “In the present list of Pakistani batsmen Azhar Ali is one of the best and he’s been batting well for quite some time.”
In an interview given to BBC, Andrew said “It’s difficult bowling out Azhar when he is on the crease, his wicket carries great importance in the fourth test also”. He further added that Azhar is a balanced player and is capable of hitting shots all over the ground that is why it isn’t so easy bowling against him.
The fourth and final Test match between England and Pakistan will be played on Thursday at the Ovals. The five-match ODI series is to begin on August 24 in South Hampton. James Anderson said “England’s performance remained good in the recently played ODI matches but playing against Pakistan will not be that easy.”
Referring to ICC ranking he said “My ranking doesn’t matter much as I always focus on my game.” Speaking about the present bowlers he said “The pitches are not so fast as compared to the previous ones and the rules also favor the batsmen but Test cricket is still the same.”
The 33 year old James Anderson further said “Winning series against Pakistan carries importance in building our team’s confidence as it will help us in future while playing series against India and Sri Lanka.”
