Bangladesh shows no mercy, UAE All Out on 82 runs

Bangladesh bowled extremely well to escape the scare of getting defeated by UAE. The hosts were tested by UAE’s bowling attack and were restricted to just 133/8 in 20 overs. However, Bangladesh made a strong comeback with the ball, bowling their opponents out on just 82 runs winning the game by a big margin of 51 runs.

None of the Bengali batsmen exhibitted a decent batting performance except their new opener, Mohammad Mithun who scored 47 runs off 41 deliveries and the experienced campaigner Mahmudullah who made 36 runs off 27 balls. Other than these two batsmen, no Bangladeshi batsmen could contribute anything mentionable. Bangladesh ended up scoring 133/8 in their quota of 20 overs. Mohammad Naved was the pick of the bowlers for UAE with 2 wickets, leaking just 12 runs in his 4 overs.

UAE must have been extremely happy with proceedings of the first innings. All UAE hopes for registering their first win in the Asia Cup perished when half of their team went back to the pavilion on just 34 runs. Mohammad Usman was the only one who tried to put up a fight against the Bengali bowling attack scoring 30 runs at run a ball. They got all out in the 18th over, scoring just 82 runs.

Mashrafe Murtaza got the man of the match award for scoring 36 runs off 27 deliveries and taking 2 wickets, conceding only 5 runs in the two overs that he bowled.
