Cricket fans thought that those four sixes by Carlos Brathwaite to seal the deal for West Indies was the last action of an eventful night but they were mistaken because what followed took the final to a whole new level as the Windies bashed their board and launched a tirade after the end of the match.
After Sammy’s frustrated remarks it was time for experienced all rounder Dwayne Bravo to step it up and criticize the WICB.
“The country’s cricket is not in right hands. We have not got a telephone call from any of the WICB officials or directors. That’s not a good thing. We know that they did not want or believe that we could win this tournament. It was basically us against them. Even the BCCI does more for us,” Bravo told the ‘Star Sports’ in a post-final interview.
Bravo added that the Windies are not going to be involved in any T20 action this year and even if the series with South Africa goes onto happen they will not be available as the player will be busy playing Natwest Blast in England. He even went onto to say that the BCCI encourages them more as compared to their own board.
“If we look at the calendar, we don’t have anymore T20 matches this year. We are not picked for the ODIs. There’s a series that’s going to happen with South Africa but we will be playing in England (Natwest Blast) whereas we should have been playing for the West Indies. Look at the love we get over here. Even the BCCI does more for us than our board,” said Bravo.
