Dean Jones believes India will miss Dhoni after his retirement
The former Australian batsman, Dean Jones believes that the Indian ODI and T20 skipper, MS Dhoni will be missed by his troop specially in sub-continent conditions after he will quit international cricket.
There has been a debate underway that Virat Kohli is ready to replace MS Dhoni in all formats of the game, however, Jones thinks that Dhoni has done a lot for Indian cricket and he has all the right to decide his fate.
“We are pretty quick to push our great players out. What’s Dhoni has done for Indian cricket, let him find his own time. I don’t think Virat is in a huge rush to captain everything (format) at the moment. Time will come. Trust me, you will miss Dhoni a lot more in India, when he retires,” Jones told PTI.
MS Dhoni didn’t have a memorable time since the past few months and that sparked the argument regarding Dhoni’s days in cricket. He finally won an ODI series after a long span of 20 months against Zimbabwe with 3-0 leading an inexperienced side.
Dean Jones praised Kohli for his skill, fitness and consistency, “Virat is really in a good part of his life. He looks brilliant with the way he’s playing. He’s happy. He is super fit. He’s just a great example for the youth of India. He looks and presents himself as an athlete. More strength to him. I just love watching him play.”
