Dhoni wants to spend more time with his daughter
Harare: Limited over’s Indian skipper and wicketkeeper batsman MS Dhoni will have some time away from cricket as his next assignment will be against New Zealand in October and the India’s most successful captain is keen on utilizing this time with his daughter.
Dhoni’s fifteen month old daughter Ziva hs seen little of her father due to the tight schedule for Indian cricket team which is why Dhoni believes that she might not even recognize him due to the amount of time he spends away from her.
“I think after a long time, I will take some time off cricket after this series (T20Is). Don’t think my daughter (15-month old Ziva) still recognises me. I will make my daughter feel that I am her dad and spent time with family,” the skipper said with his tongue firmly in cheek according to Press Trust of India.
Indian defeated Zimbabwe in a three match ODI series by 3-0 and the bowlers played a key role in restricting Zimbabwe to low totals which meant that the batsman were able to chase down the total with considerate ease. Indian bowlers dismissed the home side for 168, 126 and 123 in the three ODI matches.
“I think the execution has been really good, and that’s the key factor. The fast bowlers and the spinners have taken wickets at some point of time and put pressure on the opposition, so I am happy with the bowling performance,” Dhoni said after the match.
“I don’t mind winning games easily, that’s what you are supposed to do. It would have been nice if a few of the other batsmen would have had a break.”
