Efforts to invite Commonwealth cricket team to Pakistan
Dubai: The vibrant PSL organizer Najam Sethi says efforts are on way to attract Commonwealth cricket team to Pakistan. If we succeed in doing so with the help of Joel Clark , the chances of playing more number of matches in Pakistan would increase in the next PSL.
While speaking to the media at the International Dubai stadium he said the nation deserves to be congratulated on the successful conduction of the league. We had invited both the Prime Minister and the former captain Imran Khan to attend the finals but unfortunately both are unable to come, in my opinion politics must stay away from cricket. For the finals PCB chairman Shahryar Khan, Sheikh Mubarak Al Nahyan and Balochistan’s chief minister will certainly witness the final.
He said the people are so enthusiastic about the final’s that all match tickets have been sold out. He said after the PSL, Pakistan team will proceed to Bangladesh to play the Asia Cup, the first or second match of the event is with India but since PSL has become so popular amongst the people that nobody is bothered about the India Pakistan match which shows the popularity and success of PSL. Replying to a question he said “I don’t have any favorite team rather PSL team is my team.”
To another question he replied, our first endeavor is to revive Pak-India series after which Pakistani players participation in IPL will be discussed. I would try to ensure at least one or two PSL matches are played in Pakistan. We are making all efforts to invite Commonwealth team to Pakistan, if Joel Clark is able to bring his team to Pakistan then there are bright chances of playing more number of league matches here in future.
