England bat first after winning the toss against Sri Lanka
In the second match of the series between England and Sri Lanka, the English side has won the toss and are batting first at Chester-le-Street.
England made one change in their side with the injured Ben Stokes being replaced by Chris Woakes. Sri Lanka on the other hand replaced Shanaka for Milinda Siriwardana and Lakmal came in for Chameera.
Cook said at the toss that it is a bat first wicket and they want to put up a good score at the board.
“It’s cloudy but we think it will be cloudy for the whole game …” Cook says. “It’s very dangerous to put too much correlation between what happened last week and here. We think this is a bat-first wicket and if the sun peeks through this afternoon, we can get a good score.”
