England opt to bat in first Bangladesh ODI
DHAKA: Stand-in England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and elected to bat in the first one-day international against Bangladesh in Dhaka on Friday.
Bangladesh left out Soumya Sarkar, Nasir Hossain and Al-Amin Hossain, while England handed an ODI debut to 21-year-old left-handed batsman Ben Duckett and paceman Jake Ball at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
England’s tour, beginning with three ODIs, has been overshadowed by security concerns after regular captain Eoin Morgan opted out because of a deadly jihadist attack earlier this year.
