Ex-team management advises PCB to keep Afridi, Shahzad and Akmal away
As per some reports, some members of previous team management have advised the Pakistan Cricket Board to keep the trio of Shahid Afridi, Ahmed Shahzad and Umar Akmal away from national for the better of Pakistan cricket.
Pakistan cricket is currently at its lowest point and according to some reports; these three players are very much responsible for the misery Pakistan cricket is going through.
If some reports are to be believed, the presence of Afridi, Umar Akmal and Ahmed Shahzad will not allow the PCB to form a strong cricket team.
The cricket board is actually thinking over the issue and they are likely to exchange words over it with the new chief selector, who is to be appointed soon.
Shahid Afridi has taken off the captaincy band and has hailed the decision of naming Sarfraz Ahmed the T20 skipper, but, he has not hung his boot yet. He has made himself available for Pakistan as a player in the shortest format of the game.
Some shocking information revealed that Boom Boom Afridi’s sponsors have asked him not to retire from the T20 internationals as they have invested heavily on him. Although, many of Shahid Afridi’s fans have turned on him after the debacle in the Asia Cup and the World T20, but, still sponsors consider him a marketable personality.
Waqar Younis and Intakhab Alam also blamed the trio of Shahid Afridi, Ahmed Shahzad and Umar Akmal in their report for Pakistan’s poor show in the Asia Cup and the mega T20 event.
The former T20 skipper, Shahid Afridi has always backed Ahmed Shahzad and Umar Akmal as potential match winners. They have been dropped on different occasions, but, Afridi has brought them back on his request. It will be a challenge for the PCB to keep these three players away from the national team, specifically Shahid Afridi.
