Finn and Ball left out by England for the second test
MANCHESTER: English skipper, Alastair Cook announced the 12-men squad for the second test against Pakistan in Old Trafford and the hosts have left out the two pacers, Steven Finn and Jake Ball from the squad.
Steven Finn and Jake Ball,
both were a part of England’s pace attack at Lord’s in the first test match of the series that resulted in a humiliating defeat to England by 75 runs.
The most successful pacer of England, James Anderson is making a comeback along with Ben Stokes, which definitely will strengthen English team.
Adil Rashid is named in the 12-men squad, however, his availability in the playing XI is depending on the wicket that curators have prepared for the contest. The leggie has so far played all of his three test matches in the UAE and this might be his first appearance at home.
Cook told reporters at Old Trafford, “We’re going to name a 12 — Steven Finn and Bally are missing out,” he further added, “That means, obviously, Ben Stokes and Jimmy Anderson are back in – and Adil’s going to be in the 12, just depending on what happens to that wicket by tomorrow (Friday).”
On the other hand, it is expected that Pakistan will go in the second test with the same winning combination unless there is a case of injury.
