Focused Real Madrid continue their hunt for the title
The Spanish giants Real Madrid were on the top of their game as they outclassed Villarreal by 3-0 to register their 8th consecutive win in the ongoing Spanish La Liga. This win at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu ensured that the Los Blancos continued their hunt for the title they so desire.
The Whites were clinical in all areas of the game and held onto the ball for the majority of the time to keep the pressure on their opponents. The pressing from the forwards and mid fielders meant that the Villarreal defense were put under a sever test throughout the entire game.
Real Madrid scored the first goal of the night through Karim Benzema who slotted home through a close range effort just a few minutes before half time. In the second half the home side attacked the goal numerous time but their second goal came in the 69th minute when Lucas Vázquez smashed a venomous effort inside the near post to double his side’s lead. In the 76th minute Croatian Luka Modric scored the third and final goal of the evening when he fired a volley into the bottom right corner of the net after meeting a superb cross from Danilo.
The Team Was Phenomenal hails Zidane!
The former French player and now the coach of Real Madrid Zidane admired the way his team approached the game and he was rated the defensive work of the side as really high and considered it as almost perfect game defensively.
“We keep doing things well, working hard. The team were phenomenal from the first minute to the last. We attacked well, created chances and retrieved a lot of balls. Defensively it was an almost perfect game”, said Zidane.
Karim Benzema scored the opening goal of the night to break the deadlock and his work moving forward and in the defence was exceptional. Although he might be fatigued but Zidane believes that this is normal for the Frenchman and he will be fine before the next match.
“For Karim it is normal that he has ended up fatigued. His work both in attack and defence has been great. He ended up being fatigued but he is fine. I think Gareth will train tomorrow and I hope he will feature in Saturday’s game”, added Zidane.
Although Ronaldo limped off the field in the stoppage time but it seems as if he will do just fine for the remainder of the season. The continuous matches have taken a toll on his body and the lack of rest is one of the reasons behind the star striker’s troubles on the field yesterday.
Real Madrid’s next match is scheduled to take place away from home at the Estadio de Vallecas against Rayo Vallecano who are currently placed 16th in La Liga.
