Hanif Muhammad shows gradual improvement while fighting cancer
Karachi: Former Test cricketer Hanif Muhammad who is under treatment for cancer in a local hospital is showing gradual improvement. The renowned batsman of his time who is suffering from a fatal disease like lung cancer attended visitors including former squash champion Jehangir Khan who visited the hospital on Wednesday to enquire about his health.
According to doctors he would be allowed to go home in a couple of days if he shows further improvement. The former Test captain even on his hospital bed didn’t miss to show his great attachment to cricket. He watched the first day’s play of the third Test between England and Pakistan on TV in a local hospital.
His son Shoaib Muhammad said, his father while speaking to former Test captain Jawed Miandad said, “Birmingham Test wicket is suitable for batting, the host team has batted watching the situation and they could have scored 320 runs in the first innings.”
Hanif Muhammad said “Pakistan couldn’t take advantage of the early falling wickets however the bowlers bowled some good balls and now Pakistan needs to bat with confidence.”
