Heartbroken Junaid weighs option of moving to England permanently
Pakistan’s left-arm fast bowler is disheartened by continuous rejection by the selection committee and now weighing the option of moving permanently to England and play for the English side.
The 26-year old was the key bowler for Pakistan before he sustained a knee injury. However, he has attained fitness and had performed well during Pakistan Super League representing Peshawar Zalmi and in the Pakistan Cup as well.
The newly appointed Chief Selector said that Junaid Khan is unable to find his rhythm since he has struck with the injury, however, the fast bowler told Express Tribune, “I’m perfectly fit, and have been taking part in all the usual training exercises,” he added, “I don’t know why I’ve been overlooked. It’s demoralizing for me and I feel heartbroken.”
Junaid Khan was really looking forward for this all important tour to England. The bowler, who has 71 wickets to his name in 22 test matches with five five-wickets hall on dead wickets of UAE and Sri Lanka was excited to bowl in English conditions that offer something to pacers.
“I’ve performed on barren pitches so far in my career and when the time came for me to bowl in conditions that would perfectly suit my bowling, I was ignored,” he said.
Junaid Khan’s wife resides in England, it will definitely be helpful for him if he decides to get settled in England.
