Karachi: Pakistan 1 team comprising of national champion Babar Masih and national number 3 Asjad Iqbal failed to make it to the quarter finals of IBSF World 6-Red snooker championship as they were beaten 4-2 by Wales in their quarter final clash in Sharm el-Shekh, Egypt. In the pre-quarter final of individual event Darren Morgan of Wales beat Asjad Iqbal 4-3 after a tough fight.
According to information received in the semi-finals competition of the team event championship being played at Shar el-Sheikh, Egypt the winning team including Andrew and Jamie Clark showed excellent technique and expertise beating their Pakistani opponents to embrace victory.
Earlier Pakistan 2 comprising of national number 2 Sohail Shehzad and national number 4 (former national champion) Muhammad Bilal played a round including 32 teams and were defeated by Hong Kong 3 by 3-1 and had to be out of the event. On the other end the final of the team event will be played between China and Iran 1. In the semi-finals China beat India 9 by 4-0 and Iran 1 beat Wales 4-2. Thailand beat India 1 by 5-1 to win the championship’s Masters Title. In the Women team event finals Hong Kong will be playing against India 1.
