Islamabad: Pakistan origin British boxer Amir Khan says ” I’ll keep building positive image of Pakistan around the world where ever I go and keep emphasizing that the country is a safe and sound place for international sports”.
During his address at an event held at Pakistan Sports complex Islamabad for paying tribute to the martyrs of Army Public school Peshawar, he later spoke to the media and said Pakistan is a safe country for international sports. I am always active in promoting Pakistan’s positive image where ever I go around the world. He said his brother Haroon Khan would visit Pakistan next year to take part in the bout. There is plenty of talent available in the country but it needs to be groomed and refined. I will make the world see the Pakistani boxers talent, my services are always available and whenever the country needs me I’ll be there.
Replying to a question Amir Khan said I am very optimistic for a win in the world boxing bout scheduled March next year but I never take my rival so easy. It’s my desire that the my fight may be shown live in Pakistan. Amir khan said the APS incidence was a great tragedy, when I got this sad news I was playing an event in America and I immediately decided to visit the bereaved families at Peshawar to show my concern, some of my friends stopped me from going realizing the tense situation, but my heart was full of sorrow and I was badly hurt I couldn’t stop myself and immediately reached Peshawar to meet the injured children and parents of the martyrs to offer my condolences and concern to all those affected. He said Islam always encourages and promotes peace and brotherhood and our religion has zero tolerance against terrorism.
