Indian Wells: Nadal and Djokovic proceed to third round
Top seed Novak Djokovic and 14 time grand slam champion Rafael Nadal have progressed to the third round of the Indian Wells BNP Paribas tournament which is currently in progress at the Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, California, United States.
Novak overcame the challenge of local boy B. Fratangelo to book his place in the next round. Novak got off to a tough start and lost the first set 6-2 but the defending champion made a good comeback to win the next two sets by a score line of 6-1 and 6-2.
Meanwhile Rafael Nadal also won in three sets against the Luxembourgish player G. Muller. Seeded 4th in the tournament Rafael Nadal got off to a good start and won the first set but Muller leveled the proceeding by winning the second set. Rafa won the third set to see off this challenge and knocked Muller out of the tournament. The final scorecard of the match was 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 .
Rafael Nadal will face fellow Spaniard Fernando Verdasco in the third round while Novak Djokovic will face Philipp Kohlschreiber in a bid to qualify for the 4th round.
