Javed Miandad and Mudassar Nazar were a vital part of the Pakistan lineup during the old days and on 15th January 1983 they proved just that.
In a match played at Hyderabad Miandad and Mudassar formed a magnificent partnership of 451 runs for the third wicket against India and laid the basis for a formidable victory over their arch rivals. Javed Miandad scored 280* while Mudassar Nazar accumulated 231 runs. Pakistan managed to score a massive 581 runs in the first innings and in reply India were rolled over quite easily in both their innings for 189 and 273 runs which meant that Pakistan won the match by an innings and 119 runs.
Javed Miandad was declared man of the match for his glorious 280 runs not out innings which included 19 fours and a six. Pakistan took an unassailable lead of 3-0 in the series by winning this test match.
