Khiladi Ki Khoj is another massive initiative from ARY owned PSL team Karachi Kings for youngsters who are always on the lookout for a chance to express themselves and get exposure at the highest of levels. The selected candidates will get a chance to be part of the emerging players list in the drat of Pakistan Super League which is scheduled to take place later this month.
Despite a sun-baked day thousands of young cricketers gathered at the National Stadium in Karachi in order to showcase their talent in front of a quality selection panel, who are known for their transparent and merit based selection procedure, in the shape of Rashid Latif, Saleem Yousuf, Iqbal Qasim and Jalal-ud-Din.
The passion of the youngsters present for the trails can be judged from the fact that two young fast bowlers came all the way from Mardan and Jafarabad to showcase their talent. They were confident that that through this talent hunt Pakistan will unearth the stars of the future and were hopeful that the selectors will give them a fair chance to propel at this level of cricket.
Former wicket keeper batsman Rashid Latif was glad to see such a talent hunt in Karachi and praised the efforts of Karachi Kings for taking this step for the betterment of cricket in the largest city of Pakistan. He added that if this initiative is extended to other areas of Sindh, especially interior, it would be of great benefit for the people of those regions as those areas are not properly catered for in terms of cricketing facilities.
Jalal-ud-Din, who holds the record for taking the first hat-trick in ODI cricket, said on this occasion that he is happy to be a part of this talent hunt program and he is hopeful that over the next couple of days they will be able to select a bunch of talented young players for the emerging category of Pakistan Super League Draft.
Former Pakistan cricketer and chief selector Iqbal Qasim along with Saleem Yousuf were also part and parcel of the proceedings and kept a close eye on all the players appearing for the trials. They were keen to pick out the best from the lot so that every deserving youngster gets his fair share during the talent hunt program.
By far this talent hunt program is one of the biggest talent hunts carried out in Pakistan and emphatic response from the fresh blood of our country is a pleasant sight for this cricket loving nation.
