Kiwis on a roll
Dunedin: New Zealand have now remained unbeaten for 12 consecutive home tests. The team hasn’t lost a single match in the home test since 2012. This is a second big achievement among others of staying undefeated on its home ground.
If the Kiwis win or draw the 2nd match with Ireland they would equal the national record of remaining undefeated in 13 consecutive home matches which was set between March 1987 to March 1991. New Zealand has won 10 tests out of 28 matches under Brendon McCullum’s leadership and he is the 3rd captain to give a minimum of 10 victories to the Kiwis, Stephen Fleming gave (28) and Geoff Howarth (11) and are in the lead.
McCullum became the team’s captain in 2013 and during this period only 3 captains have crossed his test victories mark like Clarke and Cook (13,13 times) and Misbahul Haq (11).
