Lionel Messi to Lead Argentina in 2018 Qualifiers for the first time
Lionel Messi is likely to play his first qualifiers games of World Cup 2018. He is named in the 29 men squad of Argentina on Tuesday.
Messi missed first four qualifiers played last year for the tournament due to injury that were played in Russia.
Argentina, who were runner ups in 2014 World Cup, played in Brazil, had a poor start to the ten nation tournament. They lost their first game against Ecuador by a margin of 2-0, on the other hand, they managed a draw against Paraguay in absence of their wonder player, Lionel Messi.
They somehow picked themselves up with a 1-1 draw against the mighty Brazilians. Afterwards, they stood victorious against Colombia in November. Argentina is currently at the sixth sport with five points.
Argentina will be lead by Lionel Messi in the Copa America in Santiago on March 24 and at Bolivia in Cordoba few days later.
The top four sides at the end of the campaign in 2017 will qualify for the Russia finals proceeding year and the fifth-position side will go to intercontinental playoff.
