Its a do or die match for Pakistan. They have to defeat Bangladesh in this game at any cost to keep their hopes alive to qualify in the final. If Pakistan looses today, they are eliminated from the tournament and Bangladesh will take on India in the final. Pakistan do not have much memorable outings with Bangladesh in recent times. The Bengal tigers have whitewashed Pakistan in a 3-match ODI series and also won the only T20 game of the tour. Bangladesh has received a serious blow, Mustafizur Rehman is out of the Asia Cup with a strain. But, the good news for the hosts is, they have got their star opener, Tamim Iqbal, back in the squad after the birth of his first child. Everyone is looking for a thrilling contest between the bat and the ball.
Shahid Afridi has won the toss and elected to bat first.
Pakistan has made one change, Mohammad Nawaz is left out and Anwar Ali has brought back into the side.
Mashrafe Murtaza has expressed his wish, that he would also have opted to bat first had he won the toss.
Pakistan: Khurram Manzoor, Sharjeel Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, +Sarfaraz Ahmed, Umar Akmal, *Shahid Afridi, Anwar Ali, Mohammad Sami, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Irfan
Bangladesh: Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Mohammad Mithun, Sabbir Rahman, Shakib Al Hasan, +Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, *Mashrafe Mortaza, Taskin Ahmed, Arafat Sunny, Al-Amin Hossain
It looks like a different wicket, no tinch of green on this wicket, Pakistan’s decision of batting first seems fine, keeping the pitch in the view. However, dew factor can come into play later in the game, the ball may come onto the bat better. As Pakistan is not playing any spinner other than Afridi, who is a wrist spinner, gripping the ball might not be as big issue for Pakistani bowlers with no finger spinner in the side.
Khurram Manzoor and Sharjeel Ahmed are the openers for Pakistan, they had not done anything significant in the tournament so far. Taskin Ahmed with the new ball.

Miserable show of umpiring continues, Mashrafe’s delivery hit high on Hafeez’s thigh pad and umpire once again raised his finger. Poor umpiring!
The worst collective display of umpiring I’ve seen since I stood in club games. #BanvPak

Bangladesh has bowled brilliant throughout the innings, they had a plan against Pakistani batsmen and they quite successfully worked on that. Bowling in a channel, hardly gave anything loose in the 120 deliveries they bowled. They have given 0 extras in the inning.
Al-Amin Hossain, once again in the wickets with 3 scalps for just 25 runs in his 4 overs. Whereas, Taskin Ahmed was the the best bowler for the hosts. He leaked only 14 runs in 4 overs and got an important wicket of the in-form Umar Akmal.
Mohammad Amir holds the key here for Pakistan, if he can bowl another superb spell here as he has done in the previous two games, then Pakistan has a fair chance. Whereas, if you take out Amir factor from the game, Bangladesh may stand as favorites to win this contest.
