Pakistan’s most successful test captain Misbah-ul-Haq and the highest run scorer Younis Khan have been reported as unhappy over their exclusion from the list of 5 icon players for the upcoming Pakistan Super League. Both Younis and Misbah wanted to be among these top five players on account of their services for Pakistan. They will inform the PCB about their reservations and if they are not heard they might as well skip playing the league all together. A well informed source of Press Trust of India reported this news.
“They are not happy and indications are that they will convey to the board that if they are not given leadership positions in the PSL franchise teams they might skip it,”
They also failed to understanding the logic behind including Kevin Pietersen and Shane Watson in that iconic list because the former is exiled from the English side while the other has just announced his retirement.
“Pietersen is someone who has not been given this status in any other cricket league and is someone who has been sidelined by England for more than a year now,”
“On other hand, Watson has retired from Australian team duty in comparison both Younis and Misbah remain active players at the Test level,”
