Moin ventured over $ 10,000 at Chiristchurch casino: eye witness
KARACHI/CHRISTCHURCH: Chief selector of the Pakistan Cricket Time, Moeen Khan on Sunday night gambled nearly 10 to 15 thousand US dollars at a casino in Christchurch, New Zealand, ARY News cited an eye witness as saying.
ARY News last night broke the story of Moin Khan’s presence at a casino and now it substantiated its claims with an eye-witness’ account.
Speaking to ARY News on condition of anonymity, the witness confirmed that he was there at the casino from 2 am to 3:30 am last night and that the chief selector of Pakistan Cricket Team was also inside the ‘VIP Lounge’ of the casino.
He claimed to have seen the wife of Moin with chips – a metallic token variant of money deposited for gambling – worth of a huge amount.
The eye-witness said that he along with a group of his business associates tried to enter into the VIP Lounge, yet they were barred, for a person is required to ‘show’ at least 10-15 thousand USD to enter the lounge.
“Moin Khan must have gambled 10-15 thousand dollars at the casino”, he added.
He also said that the Geo News sports correspondent, Yahya Hussaini and a few other media-related figures were also present at the casino.
“A US doctor of Pakistani origin also criticized the chief selector and admonished him over his presence at the casino, despite poor performance of Pakistan world cup squad”, told the witness.
“The doctor questioned Khan what would the team perform, when he was there at the casino at such a crucial time”.
The witness said that some of his associates had taken pictures with Moin Khan, which he said he is trying to obtain, in order to provide it to ARY News as evidence.
