Lahore: Muhammad Yousuf says the lust for monetary gains is making PCB restless.
In an interview former captain Muhammad Yousuf said announcing Pak-India cricket series as inevitable for the benefit of cricket is unjustified. Both the countries haven’t played mutual series for quite some time and it has hardly affected the world of cricket. Even if they don’t play now it won’t make any difference. He said PCB has no financial problem except the unnecessary number of staff drawing heavy salaries.
Muhammad Yousuf said members at the senior levels enjoy all the facilities and perks and lavishly spend on their foreign tours. Had we been so weak financially, we could never have thought of organizing the PSL event. Despite BCCI’s several lame excuses, why are we still insisting on the Pak-India series? Is it only a matter of promoting cricket or is it the financial gains tempting the PCB. I think BCCI is using delaying tactics just to make Pakistan uncomfortable.
