The PCB has taken Mushtaq Ahmed onboard as the bowling coach for the test series against England and he will be replaced by Azhar Mehmood for the ODI and T20 series.
Both the appointments have been made keeping just England tour in view and they will be reviewed after the tough assignment.
Mushtaq Ahmed, who is currently holding the post of head coach of the NCA, has a vast experience under his belt of coaching in England. He has worked with English team as the spin bowling coach for a long period of time.
On the other hand, Azhar Mehmood knows English playing conditions pretty well as he has been playing county cricket for quite a while now. He is also under contract with Surrey as a player at the moment.
Steve Rixon has been appointed as the fielding coach. The former Australian wicketkeeper was in Mickey Arthur’s coaching team in Australia during his span of 2011 to 2014.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has extended the contracts of Grant Flower as the batting coach and Grant Luden as the trainer, who was formerly acting as trainer as well as fielding coach.
Both Flower and Luden has completed their two-year tenure with the team, however, their contracts have been extended till the end of England tour.
Pakistan is scheduled to play four-match test series, five-match ODI series and a T20 international on the tour. The first test between the two countries will kick off from July 14th.
