According to the PCB Chief, the board is weighing all the received applications thoroughly and looking to hire the most suitable candidate for the post.
The position of head coach is vacant since Waqar Younis stepped down from the position last month after a disastrous show by the team in the Asia Cup and the World T20.
The Pakistan Cricket Board published the ad for the vacancy of head coach; the deadline to apply for the job was 25th April.
As per reports, the board has received nine applications, which include seven foreign candidates and two local candidates.
The frontrunners to capture the post till now were Mickey Arthur, Peter Moores and Aqib Javed. However, there can be a surprise from the board and an unexpected name can be announced as the new head coach.
