Pakistan and Australia agree to promote hockey
Lahore/Islamabad: Pakistan and Australia have mutually agreed to promote and develop hockey. According to the memorandum of understanding the Pakistan Junior hockey team will be visiting Australia in the near future consequently Australian junior team will be seen in action against Green Shirts either in Pakistan or at some neutral venue.
According to details PHF president Brig(retd) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar, PHF secretary Shahbaz Ahmad and Treasurer Muhammad Ikhlaq Usmani met an Australian delegation which consisted of foreign affairs and trade for South Asia Director Michele Forster and First secretary economic and public diplomacy Nicole Guihot at the Australian High Commission in Islamabad for mutual discussion and signing of agreement for the promotion of hockey by both sides.
As per this agreement Pakistan Junior hockey team will play match series with Australia and in return Australian Junior team will play matches against Green Shirts in Pakistan or at a neutral venue. Its also been agreed that Pakistani coaches, Umpires and technical staff would visit Australia for training and coaching purpose to upgrade their skills.
