Pakistan confident to win at Sharjah
Pakistan’s left arm spinner Zulfiqar Babar along with leg spinner Yasir Shah played a key role in Pakistan’s win at Dubai as the spin twins combined to take 11 wickets in that match.
Zulfiqar Babar was quoted by an international news site (Sport360.com) regarding Pakistan’s chances in the third test match. Babar said that Pakistan was confident that the team was in good shape and mood and will win the third test match. The win will take Pakistan to second on the ICC rankings for test match teams.
“The mood is confident and we want to win the match so that we can take the series and rise in rankings,”
He added that England have played well during the series and its tough to dismiss them. He said that they hired Lankan great Mahela Jayawardene which has done wonders for the English batsmen so the Pakistan bowlers need to operate cleverly to trap them.
“It’s tough because England have come here well prepared so we have to use our variations. They employed Jayawardene as batting consultant and they must have learnt good things from him, but we need to be one step ahead of them to get more success,”
He said that after the first test he decided to exploit the rough areas on the deteriorating pitch to trouble the left handers which helped the team achieve the results they strived for.
“It was tough to get them in the first Test but then I realised we can get the left handers by bowling in the rough and that gave me the desired results,”
The third and final test match between the two sides begin of the 1st of November at Sharjah.
