Pakistan knocked out of u19 world cup
The Pakistan Under-19 team has been knocked out of the ongoing World Cup in Bangladesh after the team lost to West Indies in the quarter final by 5 wickets.
Having won the toss the Pakistan under-19 team decided to bat first but that turned out to be a disastrous decision as they found themselves reeling at 57/5 in the 21st over. At this stage youngster Umair Masood along with Salman Fayyaz pegged back the initiative and formed a brilliant partnership of 164 runs for the 6th wickets and got Pakistan to a respectable total.
Wicket keeper batsman Umair Masood scored a fantastic century which included 15 fours and two sixes. He was finally dismissed for 113 off 114 balls by RD John. CK Holder took 2 wickets for the Windies side.
In reply the Windies side chased down the total in efficient fashion and won the match by 5 wickets and with 10 overs to spare. TA Imlach scored 54 runs while SO Hetmyer scored a quick fire 42 ball 52 runs.
Although Umair’s century was in vain but he was given the man of the match award for his brilliant ton.
