In the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League Pakistan players have been on song due to their brilliant performance in all departments.
Yesterday Shoaib Malik, playing for Comilla Victorians, played a match winning knock of 34 runs off 23 balls which included 2 fours and 1 six which guided the team home along with Ahmed Shahzad who scored 37 runs. Umar Akmal who was playing for the opposing side, Chittagong Vikings, scored 49 runs off 34 balls and remained not out which propelled his team to a respectable total. Shoaib Malik also bowled an economical spell with figures of 0-27 in his full quota of four overs. He also opened the bowling for the Victorians which helped them in restricting the Vikings to a low total. From the losing Chittagong side in form fast bowler Mohammad Amir took 2 wickets for 22 runs and registered another fine performance.
In other match Mohammad Sami bowled a fantastic spell for the Barisal Bulls and took 2 wickets for 16 runs including the important scalp of Misbah-ul-Haq. The riders were dismissed for a mere 104 runs and the rain interruption meant that it was reduced further to 75 runs in 13 overs. His counterpart in the Rangpur Riders side Wahab Riaz also bowled decently well and took a wicket for 12 runs but unfortunately the total was below par and hard to defend.
The next round of matches will begin on 6th December and it will be interesting to see how the Pakistan players carry their form in the remaining tournament.
