PCB announces test squad for England tour
LAHORE: PCB announces 17 men test squad for the upcoming England tour, Junaid Khan is left out, however, Sohail Khan will travel to England with the team.
Mohammad Amir is named in the squad, but, his selection is subjected to his visa. As per sources, he is likely to get the visa tomorrow. Mohammad Hafeez, despite of not attaining complete fitness is included as an opener.
Inzamam Ul Haq announced the squad in a press conference, he told that it is unfortunate that the head coach Mickey Arthur could not see players playing, but, he has consulted him during selection.
Inzamam is hoping that this tour of England will be free of controversies, “We hope that there will be no controversies in England this time, Misbah and Younis will have a big responsibility in this regard, the board has also focused on it, media manager will also travel with the team that will help players to handle media better.”
According to the chief selector, he is keeping an eye on players’ performance in the first class cricket. There is also a possibility that players from Pakistan A tour of England can be included in the national squad for putting up an outstanding show for the A team.
Openers: Mohammad Hafeez, Sami Aslam, Shan Masood.
Middle order Batsman: Misbah Ul Haq (captain), Younis Khan, Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Iftikhar Ahmed.
Wicketkeepers: Sarfraz Ahmed, Rizwan Ali.
Spinners: Yasir Shah, Zulfiqar Babar.
Fast bowlers: Mohammad Amir, Rahat Ali, Wahab Riaz, Imran Khan, Sohail Khan.
