PCB begins skills camp for players ahead of England tour
Lahore: The ‘skills camp’ has begun today for cricketers to practice and refine their skills for the upcoming England tour.
According to details, the players after completing their training at Military Academy Kakul were short listed, 21 out of them were selected as the probable ones for the England tour. These include Muhammad Hafeez, Sami Aslam, Khuram Manzoor and Shan Masood, Azhar Ali, Younus Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq, Asad Shafiq, Iftikhar Ahmad, Asif Zakir and Akbar Rehman, Sarfraz Ahmad, Muhammad Rizwan, Muhammad Amir, Rahat Ali, Imran Khan, Sohail Khan, Junaid Khan Ehsan Adil, Yasir Shah and Zulfiqar Babar. The players belonging to Lahore will daily come from their homes to attend the camp. Muhammad Hafeez suffering from a knee injury will abstain from training. All arrangements have been made at Gaddafi Stadium and NCA.
According to schedule, the players will practice indoors from 10.00am to 1.00pm at NCA. However it’s not compulsory to attend this session. From 3.30pm onwards the bowlers only will practice in Gaddafi stadium to improve their skills. In the evening from 4.30 to 7.00pm all players will keep practicing to improve their batting, bowling and fielding skills. NCA’s head coach Mushtaq Ahmad will supervise the training, batting coach Grant flower, trainer and field coach Grant Lewdon and support staff will be present to assist the players.
