Islamabad: Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Jamali strongly criticizes Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) saying the Federation spends millions of Rupees but fails to produce desired results.
Mir Zafarullah Jamali who stayed a President of PHF from 2006 to 2008 during a question and answer session in the National Assembly said the existing Federation has been misusing millions of rupees fund and have ruined the game.
He said no one is there to take action against the existing Federation as they are closely affiliated to the Prime Minister’s office.
It may be noted that the existing President of PHF Brig (Rtd) Sajjad Khokhar was the choice of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who is also a patron in chief of the PHF.
Mr Jamali said the previous Federations had been given a grant of 100 million rupees and massive embezzlement was made, while the existing set up has been provided 700millin rupees and are spending money without any results or accountability.
The Federal Minister for Inter -Provincial Co ordination Riaz Hussain Pirzada tried to respond to Mr Jamali in detail but he refused to listen and said that action should also be taken against the Federal Minister on keeping silent on the embezzlement issue.
Riaz Hussain Pirzada said the matter should be referred to the concerned standing committee whereas the Speaker of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq referred the matter to National Assembly standing committee on IPC.
After holding discussions with the concerned officials, the committee would submit its report in the National Assembly.
