Players practicing for England tour found in high spirits
Lahore: The players practicing for England tour were in high spirits despite the extreme hot weather. They were practicing with full rhythm even at a temperature of 43 degrees Celsius. The pacers including Rahat Ali and Sohail Khan were given the task of bowling on green top pitches without batsmen to swing the ball to hit the wickets.
According to details the mercury hit high in Lahore as in other parts of the country rising to 43 degrees Celsius. The Pakistan players after attending their first session at National Cricket Academy came for training at the Gaddafi stadium at 3:00pm.
The camp started with light exercise and the players were spread in groups for fielding practice. At one end of the ground green top pitches were set up for bowlers including Rahat Ali and Sohail Khan to practice bowling. It was the first time in the camp that the coaches kept their focus on both the wicketkeepers Rizwan and Sarfraz and gave them more than an hour for batting practice. The coaches and selectors observed their strong and weak areas and there were two fielders placed in the slips along with a keeper.
The spinners were given the opportunity to get trained on the nets installed in front of gate No. 10 and 11 at the Gaddafi stadium. The camp commandant Mushtaq Ahmad keenly observed the bowling of Yasir Shah and Muhammad Amir.
