PSL attracts ‘Former amazing players’ around the world
Dubai: PSL provides an opportunity to former star players for getting together, Sir Vivian Richards, Wasim Akram and Dean Jones while refining their team players also renewed their past memories.
According to details the preparation of franchise teams for PSL is on full swing which begins on the 4th February. Peshawar’s Zalmi team attended the practice session from 4 to 6.30 pm at the ICC cricket academy. Captain Shahid Afridi who joined the squad a day later added lot of joy and energy in the squad.
Coach Muhammad Akram remained active along with his staff. On the other end Lahore Qalandars team was busy improving their skills, earlier in the morning Karachi Kings with Mickey Arthur and in the afternoon Islamabad United players with Wasim Akram and Dean Jones tried to take advantage of their presence. Quetta Gladiators became a point of attraction for Sir Vivian Richards. The squads determination further strengthened watching former great stars amongst them. The three super stars Wasim Akram, Vivian Richards and Dean Jones got the opportunity of visiting each other’s camp to revive their glorious past.
While speaking to the media, Lahore Qalandars captain Azhar Ali said we are very optimistic to participate in the first edition of the league, with the new talent coming in, the existing players will also have a chance to learn and improve. Peshawar Zalmi’s James Allenby said the squad is balanced and has excellent potential to win the title.
Wahab Riaz and Junaid Khan along with speed star Shaun Tait will make the pace battery lethal. Shane Watson said PSL will provide a great chance to prepare for the World T20, its giving an opportunity to learn from some great former players, he further said, it would be exciting playing in Pakistan when conditions improve.
