Islamabad: World renowned former West Indian batsman Sir Vivian Richards says there is tremendous talent available in the Asian region and PSL success is inevitable.
Giving an interview to Khaleej Times the former batsman said he’s been attached to world top ranking T20 tournaments ( Indian Premier League, Big Bash and Caribbean League) and PSL is also a continuation of this process.
Vivian Richards is mentoring PSL franchise Quetta Gladiators, he says the players want to play aggressive cricket and there can’t be a better place than PSL. He said I have always enjoyed playing cricket against Pakistan due to their aggressive mindset.
He said though West Indies has had success against Pakistan but during my period this was the only team which created problems for us and playing against them was always a challenge.
The former star famous for his aggressive batting said this is an ideal opportunity for Pakistani youngsters to prove their mettle in PSL. UAE’s pleasant weather will help the T20 teams to entertain their fans with good cricket.
Quetta Gladiators coordinator said there are plenty of fresh, young and good players here. Wherever I am required by the Quetta team I’ll utilize my full energy in helping them win.
He said today’s players are boys who can go for long travels and are experienced playing around the world.
Richards said I am lucky to be a part of Quetta team where we have players like Kevin Pietersen and Luke Wright.
My first session with the team was wonderful and I am hopeful we’ll perform well in the tournament.
In Pakistan’s cricket history the first PSL T20 domestic tournament will begin from 4th of February in Dubai.
