On Sunday the final of the Quaid-e-Azam trophy final began between the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited and United Bank Limited. The interesting thing about this final is that it’s a day and night match which is the first of it’s kind in Pakistan.
United Bank which is led by Younis Khan won the toss and elected to bat first. Although they got a good start from Sharjeel Khan and Shan Masood which comprised of 71 runs but they lost wickets on regular intervals which meant that the whole team was dismissed for 208 runs. Sharjeel top scored with 73 runs while Hammad Azam scored 39 runs.
Mohammad Hafeez and Bilawal Bhatti were the chief destroyers from the SNGPL side as they both took three wickets each.
The SNGPL side could not make the most of the little time they had on day 1 and gave away two wickets for just 35 runs on the board. Mohammad Hafeez was dismissed for a second ball duck while Hussain Talat was sent back to the pavilion after scoring 10 runs. Ehsan Adil and Hammad Azam took one wicket each.
