Pakistan Super League’s franchise, Quetta Gladiators plan to play a couple of exhibition T20 matches against Shahid Afridi’s Peshawar Zalmi in England during national team’s tour this summer to promote the league in the country.
Nadeem Omar, the owner of Quetta Gladiators told Dawn News that the board allows them to hold three promotional events in a year. He expects the international stars to feature in these games as well.
“Players like Luke Wright and Kevin Pietersen are also expected to be available for the matches,” he said.
Nadeem Omar also expressed his wish to invite international cricketing stars to come and play in promotional games in Peshawar and Quetta.
Quetta Gladiators put up an inspiring show in the first edition of the Pakistan Super League under the captaincy of Sarfraz Ahmed as the franchise remained the runners up.
Whereas, Peshawar Zalmi probably had the biggest fan following in the country during the inaugural season of the PSL because of Shahid Afridi being the captain.
A clash between the two sides at a neutral venue like England can be quite beneficial for league as it can boast the international fan following.
