Sami Aslam, Rizwan and Yasir Shah might play 2nd ODI against Ireland
Dublin: Pakistan thumped Ireland by a massive margin of 255 runs to go one up in the two match ODI series against the Irish side.
Pakistan’s captain Azhar Ali said after the match that he was glad to see a huge Pakistani fan base at the stadium which were a motivating factor for the players. He added that before the next game on Saturday Pakistan will go through their plans about whether they will field other players in the next match but having said that they need to keep an eye on the upcoming five match ODI series.
“We will sit down tomorrow and think our plans and also how we are going to play against England (in the five-match series immediately afterwards) as we need to keep an eye on that as well,” he said.
“The support here for us was very good. It made us feel like we were playing at home”
Pakistan might well bring in the likes of leg spinner Yasir Shah, wicket keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan and opener Sami Aslam, who impressed one and all with his performances in two Test matches, in order to gauge their abilities in the shorter formats of the game.
The final ODI match between Pakistan and Ireland is scheduled to be played tomorrow at the same venue that is Dublin. Pakistan will then head to Southampton from where the five match ODI series against England will begin.
