Pakistan’s legendary spinner, Saqlain Mushtaq has accepted the proposal of ECB to work as a spin bowling consultant for Pakistan tour to England.
However, due to his media commitments in Pakistan, Saqlain will only provide consultancy to the English team in the second test match of the series at Old Trafford.
According to sources, the England and Wales Cricket Board has approached the inventor of ‘Doosra’ to neutralize Yasir Shah, who ripped off English batting during their tour to the UAE. Yasir claimed 15 wickets in just the two test matches that he played and received the Man of the Series award.
The playing conditions in England will not be too spin friendly, which means, Pakistani pacers will have to perform well and the fragile Pakistani batting against fast bowlers on a seaming track, will have to bat decently.
Saqlain Mushtaq will help the two spinners of England, Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid and his experience will come handy to them later this year when England will tour India and Bangladesh .
Saqlain, who is also called Saqqi by his friends and teammates, has worked as a consultant with New Zealand and West Indies in the past as well.
Pakistan will take on the hosts in four test matches, five One Day Internationals and A T20 international during their stay. The first test match against England will kick off from July 14th.
