The PCB Chairman, Shahryar Khan announced while talking to Dawn News that Intikhab Alam has been taken onboard as the team manager for the upcoming important tour of England. Khan also praised the recent performance of Intikhab Alam as the team manager.
However, the decision of hiring a bowling coach is pending till the joining of Mickey Arthur as the decision has to be made with the consultation of the newly appointed head coach.
Similarly, the decision about the future of Pakistan’s batting coach Grant Flower and the trainer Grant Luden will also be taken once Mickey Arthur takeover the responsibilities formally.
On another question, Shahryar Khan said that Shahid Afridi will not be an automatic choice for central contract this time and the verdict of awarding him the contract will depend on his performance.
PCB Chairman, Shahryar Khan further stated to Dawn News that the performance of Pakistan’s star allrounder will be observed and the final decision will be made by the selection committee.
Shahid Afridi has also pulled out from the fitness tests due to a niggle in his knee, he communicated the board about his decision via an email last week. Shahid Afridi tweeted, “I want to regain fitness for Hampshire T20 stint. Will undergo fitness test as soon as I’m available for selection.”
