Skrtel faces three match suspension over stamping De Gea
LONDON: Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel has been suspended for three matches over stamping Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea during their Premier League match on Sunday, ARYSports.tv reports.
He was not punished during the match as the incident was missed by the referee but his actions were recorded by a video footage.
Skrtel had denied the allegations but was found guilty by a commission.
He will miss the league games against Arsenal, FA Cup semi final against Blackburn Rovers as well as league game against Newcastle United.
It should be noted that Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has also been banned for the next three games following a red-card which he received just 38 second after coming as a substitute in the game.
