Team Pakistan depart for New Zealand on WC journey
Pakistan cricket team on Tuesday departed for New Zealand to begin their World Cup journey with the two-match ODI series against Black Caps, ARY News reported.
Team Pakistan is scheduled to play two ODIs against New Zealand on January 31 and February 3 before heading to Sydney for its warm-up game against England on February 11. Pakistan will square off arch-rival India on February 15 in their opening encounter of the mega event.
Before departure, speaking to media in Lahore, Manager Cricket Team Naveed Akram Cheema asked nation to pray for team’s better performance. He expressed hope that player will utilize 100 per cent of their abilities to attain desirable results.
“We are going to participate in the mega event with complete preparation”, he added.
Naveed Cheema said Pakistan’s squad is comprises of superb combination of young and senior players.
Skipper of national cricket team Misbah-ul-Haq, talking to media advised his team to play with confidence putting 100 per cent without worrying about the result.
Replying to a question, Misbah vowed to change the trend by defeating India in the opening encounter.
